Alan Porter

Alan Porter is a third generation pastor, growing up in the same church as his father and grandfather. While in Bible college, Alan had fun leading the youth group at his father's church as well as spending many sleepless nights as a counselor at Bible camp. While music has always been a part of his life (Alan's mother involved him and his sisters in band, piano and vocal lessons and related competitions while growing up), it was not until Alan joined the Coast Guard a few years after graduating college that he starting playing the guitar.

Upon being stationed Cape Cod in 2001 with the Coast Guard, Alan began attending Cape Cod Church, and shortly after began helping with the Detour band and the Worship team.  His responsibilities steadily grew, and upon completing his enlistment in the Coast Guard, he was named the Worship Pastor of Cape Cod Church in 2005. Alan leads the Worship Team on Sundays, coordinates video projects, and takes time out of his busy schedule to teach Pastor Ben air guitar.
