"BRIAN!!!" This is one of the many sounds that greets me as I enter the
church building, whether it be at Detour, my youth group, or church on
Sunday mornings. One of my favorite things about CCC is definitely the
people there. They're always welcoming and friendly, and I have made
some of my best friends at church. The community that I feel when I
walk through the doors is one of my favorite feelings in the world: a
feeling of acceptance and assurance. So whether I'm searching for
advice, or simply the screaming of a ridiculous nickname to make me
feel accepted, I am always excited to get to church on Sundays and
Thursday evenings.
Once, I went on a week long vacation in the summer.
Consequently, my family visited another church while we were away. I
remember it was a very nice church, and the people were friendly
enough. But I can not TELL you how happy I was the next Sunday, back in
my own niche. I guess it's just the style of our church that I love so
much. Especially the music. I love the fact that I can worship, and
have fun at the same time. Some of my favorite songs, I get to sing on
Sundays. And the songs I get to listen to at Detour? I love to dance to
them!!! Although the church is always looking to change, somehow it's
always familiar because of that. I suppose, being the Pastor's
daughter, I'm a bit biased. But I have been to several great churches,
and although the preaching can be great, I'm happiest and most
interested when I'm at home.
