The Project

After many years of searching, God has provided Cape Cod Church with nearly 10 acres for development and recreation on Route 151 near Currier Road. This convenient Falmouth location is just two miles from the Mashpee Rotary - with easy access from Bourne, Mashpee, Sandwich, and the mid-cape - and just minutes from the Bourne Bridge. Our vision of a“city set on hill” is becoming a reality!

A detailed self-study process in the Fall of 2009, coupled with the creative work of our Architect lead us to a design that is practical, efficient, visionary, and beautiful.  These plans allow us to serve Cape Cod and beyond, creating space for community and church. Planned to be environmentally sensitive, the design also allows for significant volunteer involvement in construction.

The Site

The site is designed for our current needs and for future expansion - with space for recreation, a ½-mile “Fit Trail” open to the community, an outdoor amphitheater, and plenty of parking.. The campus-like atmosphere setting will be a welcoming place for neighbors and the community.

Two Floor Design

Coming in the main entrance on the lower level, the first floor offers everything in easy view for a family:  children's  space, nursery care, and the auditorium for worship. The entry plaza space welcomes with a sense of openness and warmth.

Moving to the second floor via the plaza stairs, or from the upper level entrance, brings us to the Youth Center, offices, group meeting spaces, and upper level seating.

Plaza

The1st floor Plaza is the place for connecting and gathering.  It will feature a café area with a bookstore - open to church and community throughout the week . This space will be filled with chairs, a fireplace, and intimate spaces designed to promote conversation.  This large area also serves a 2nd purpose as a meeting area for large groups getting together for a luncheon or breakfast prepared in the adjacent catering kitchen.

The glass front offers a clear message from inside and out that all are welcome, making the transition from road to church less intimidating.  Meant for more than Sundays, this space is for “community”!

Auditorium

Worship has always been central to the story of Cape Cod Church. The new worship space creates space for hundreds of worshippers while maintaining a sense of closeness and intimacy. Architecture, technology, and acoustics are blended to present both music and the spoken word with creativity and clarity. Whether it is a weekend worship service or a Christmas Celebration this space makes room for our community.

Youth Center

Youth ministry is a vital part of Cape Cod Church, and the new dedicated Youth Center on the upper floor gives them a place to call their own.  Coming in their own private entrance, youth will find their place:  a café, games, and small group meeting rooms - all built around their own meeting area.  This seating and stage area creates a youth-centered venue where the values and truth of a Christ-centered life are offered.

Children & Nursery

Our investment in youth starts at the beginning - secure and spacious nursery space with separate areas for infants, crawlers, and toddlers.  From there they move on to a vibrant childrens' center. This childrens' space features a secure registration area for parents and children.  A welcoming playroom open to families and community throughout the week reminds us that being a kid is fun.  Inside, the childrens' center features classrooms and an assembly area for teaching, skits, music, and small group discussions - a learning environment that makes kids want to come back week after week.

Design

Site design and building plans are being created with an emphasis on efficiency and environmental sensitivity. Using natural topography offers ground level entrances on both floors of the building.  Designed to be both practical and beautiful, the design offers a reflection of the spirit and heart of Cape Cod Church.  From Rt. 151, the iconic tower features the cross - the prominent symbol of our faith, with the imagery of the lighthouse as a reminder of the bright light of a city set on a hill that cannot be hid.

Our vision is a place of worship...a place for our community...a place for generations to discover the Savior.
