Project General Contractor & Building Team member Peter Barbato shares with us the latest update:

What a great opportunity it is to be involved in leading in the planning and eventual construction of our new facilities on Rt. 151. Like Nehemiah (remember him from our Foundation Celebration!) I can envision the building being built and even the vision excites me!

As the winter months set in we are working our way through the final stages of the permitting process. Permitting for a project of this size takes months of planning and team work by both our building team and our extended team of lawyers, engineers, and architects. As a part of this process we work through issues of traffic, wildlife, water resources, conservation, energy & sustainability and more. Each of these is an important piece of planning when
considering a building that will be a landmark on Cape Cod for years to come. All time well spent!

At the same time we are working on final pricing development for the project and any necessary work that has to be done to bring the project in line with our financial means. This entails evaluating the quotes we receive, working with our key volunteers (who truly make this project possible) to bring costs down, and making necessary adjustments and alterations to meet financial limits.

Armed with the financial cost information we give them the church Finance Team (Finance Team member and Assistant Business Manager, Steve Lawrence is a part of the building team for just this reason) can
establish a cash flow analysis. This analysis allows us to seek any necessary bank financing, plan with confidence, and establish a construction timetable and be able to answer the question everyone is asking … when do we start!

Like you, I look forward to that ground breaking ceremony and the commencement of construction. Now is the time to pray, pray specifically for the Lords hand in all of our planning and permitting.
