Building Team
The following individuals bring invaluable expertise to our building project. They are all actively involved in the life of Cape Cod Church and their assistance flows from their heart for what God is doing in and through His church.
Steven Lawrence:
Steve recently joined the building team after the completion of the commitment phase of our "Moving by Faith" capital campaign where he ser. Steve is also a member of the Cape Cod Church Executive Team as well as Assistant Business Manager in our finance department. He holds a PhD in Finance from Boston College and is head of FX Research for State Street Associates in Boston. Steve's role in the Building Team will be to connect our building needs with our financial capacity.
John Noonan:
John has been involved and instrumental in the entire land search and now design and development process. His contracting background (Electrician & Developer) have been beneficial to the church. Johns knowledge of land and land purchase were valuable in the land purchase process. In the construction process he will oversee the Electrical needs as well as other areas.
Peter Barbato:
Peter is the owner/founder of Barbato Construction, a Commercial Construction contractor with many years of experience in and through Southeastern MA. As a General Contractor, Peter has been able to guide the design project from a cost and efficiency of design aspect. Peter will be acting as General Contractor for our project, directing our many volunteer and subcontractors. By bringing a GC into the design process we create a unified process that gives us both cost and design efficiency.
Dave Robbins:
Dave has a background in general construction, framing, and carpentry. Most of course know Dave as the Chaplain of the Barnstable House of Corrections and for his deep involvement in ministry at Cape Cod Church. Daves understanding of our many ministry efforts at Cape Cod Church has brought a practical aspect to our planning. During the construction phase Dave will be instrumental in coordinating our volunteer efforts as we "self-perform" construction of a very large project.
Pastor Ben Feldott:
The role of a Pastor in the building team is in connecting the design process to our overall ministry vision. Key to this process is the belief that "Form follows Function" or in the case of the church "Design follows Ministry". A thorough ministry self-study in the Fall of 2009 laid the foundation for our current design. During the construction phase the Pastor will work to the physical construction process tot he life of the church as a ministry that involves each and every one of us.
Expansion of Team:
As the design process flows into the construction process the Building Team will be expanded to include a variety of skilled and dedicated volunteers from Cape Cod Church. Our ultimate goal is to build a remarkable facility while tt he same time largely self-performing construction.
