Wednesday, January 7th

I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him.  (Ephesians 3:16-17A)

My heart is confident in you, O God; no wonder I can sing your praises with all my heart!  Wake up, lyre and harp!  I will wake the dawn with my song.  I will thank you, Lord, among all the people.  I will sing your praises among the nations.  For your unfailing love is higher than the heavens . Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens.  May your glory shine over all the earth.  (Psalm 108:1-5)

God is carrying out the long-term mission of making his glory shine over all the earth.  He does this by manifesting his presence in our lives.  The more we do our part of letting him do this the more it becomes evident to the people around us.  The more we enjoy the experience of his presence and the transformation that follows, the more we will do our part of singing his praises - and displaying his love - to others.  As others are impacted by our lives in this way, God is able to draw them to himself (redemption) so that they begin a relationship with God and become ones (transformation) he uses to shine his glory over all the earth as well.  His grand plan is being carried out by multiplication!

"Thank you, Lord, for the fantastic privilege of living for your glory and being able to do our part in spreading it to others.  May it always be that we do our part in total dependence on you as you empower us with inner strength through the Holy Spirit. Amen."
