I will sing of the Lord’s unfailing love forever! Young and old will hear of your faithfulness. Your unfailing love will last forever. Your faithfulness is as enduring as the heavens .... Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne. Unfailing love and truth walk before you as attendants. Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of your presence, Lord. They rejoice all day long in your wonderful reputation. They exult in your righteousness. You are their glorious strength. It pleases you to make us strong. Yes, our protection comes from the Lord, and he, the Holy One of Israel, has given us our king. (Psalm 89:1-2, 14-18)
I love the words above: "Happy are those who hear the joyful call to worship, for they will walk in the light of your presence, Lord."
I guess the teacher in me is coming out because I am giving you an assignment. In your quiet time today, put together a brief commentary of your own that captures the truth of what you have personally gleaned from this week's devotionals. And then write out your own prayer response to God that expresses to him the work he is doing in your heart and life at this time - and what you desire him to do in 2015. If you feel led to, you can share one or both of those as a comment to this blog post.
God Bless, Ken Hart
