We have been hearing from many of you saying, "What can I do to help?"
In these unprecedented and uncertain times, the elderly face serious risk and will need intentional support. Here's how we are mobilizing to help.
(1) FOOD DELIVERY
We are partnering with two organizations that need help serving seniors:
- Elder Services of Cape Cod and the Islands has an urgent need for volunteers in the Meals on Wheels program in Bourne, Mashpee, Falmouth, Sandwich, and other Cape Cod towns. They need drivers to deliver meals to seniors.
- Neighborhood Falmouth has a need for volunteers to shop for food and supplies, and deliver to seniors who are isolated in Falmouth
As you might imagine, both of these organizations have an increased service need, and a reduced pool of volunteers who can help. The organizations will explain what is required (ie. CORI background check) and all health and safety protocols for drivers.
Sign up here and we will connect you with the organization of your choosing.
(2) CONNECT WITH OUR SENIORS
We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to connect via phone with hundreds of seniors in our church family who may be isolated- to offer assistance and encouragement! Join the Care Team to call on seniors from the comfort of your home.

(3) LEVERAGE YOUR INFLUENCE
We would also encourage you to seek out those in your own neighborhood, or in your friend circle who are at-risk of isolation or may be feeling anxious and lonely. In uncertain times, it is often those that are shy about asking for help that fall between the cracks, un-aided by care organizations. We can each help protect that vulnerable demographic by intentionally reaching out!
Lend an ear, offer to help, speak with hope.
However you choose to help in this season, we hope you will let your light shine before others!
"That's how you must shine your light in front of people! Then they will see what wonderful things you do, and they'll give glory to your faith in heaven." Matt 5:16
