Handling Suffering - The Surprise of Joy - Tuesday, July 3rd

(This week’s Devotionals run Monday through Saturday)

In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ; and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory. 1 Peter 1:6-8

Today's thoughts from today's verse:

Today’s Scripture tells us that God uses trials to test our faith. At the same time, it is our faith that enables us to endure trials. The end result is the praise and glory and honor of God at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Our ultimate aim in life must be to exist for God’s praise, glory, honor. When we surrender to God and allow him to freely utilize our lives fully for his Divine purposes, we will be able to live fully for God and the end result will be the praise and glory and honor of God. You see there is great joy in actually seeing honor and glory come to him as a result.

So, when trials come we can rejoice in them because we know that the end result is God’s praise, honor and glory. However, joy also comes from the presence of Christ who is with us in the midst of our trials. We don’t see Christ with our eyes but we love him and believe in Him. With a heart full of love and with the eyes of faith, we behold our Savior and know and experience his presence in midst of trials and suffering. And then as our passage says we “greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory.” Truly there is joy in suffering because the suffering of trials brings praise and glory and honor to God and because Christ is present with us in the midst of our trials and suffering.

Today's prayer response from today's thoughts:

Lord, I understand that you are committed to all of this coming about in my life. Help me to be on board with it. May I be so committed to what you are doing that I let you give me the courage and boldness I need to face victoriously whatever comes my way. May the life I live be the outworking of your power and grace and for your honor and glory. May I find joy in suffering. Amen!

I was wondering if you ever considered changing the layout of your
website? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say.
But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better.

Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or two images.
Maybe you could space it out better?
