Heaven and Earth Intersect - Our Lives as Bridges Only - Thursday, August 3rd

All the people saw him walking and heard him praising God … Peter saw his opportunity and addressed the crowd. “People of Israel,” he said, “what is so surprising about this? And why stare at us as though we had made this man walk by our own power or godliness? … Through faith in the name of Jesus, this man was healed—and you know how crippled he was before. Faith in Jesus’ name has healed him before your very eyes.” Acts 3:9, 12, & 16

Men of Israel, listen to these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man attested to you by God with miracles and wonders and signs which God performed through Him in your midst, just as you yourselves know— this Man, delivered over by the predetermined plan and foreknowledge of God, you nailed to a cross by the hands of godless men and put Him to death. But God raised Him up again, putting an end to the agony of death, since it was impossible for Him to be held in its power. Acts 2:22-24

Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, “Rulers and elders of the people, if we are on trial today for a benefit done to a sick man, as to how this man has been made well, let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by this name this man stands here before you in good health. He is the stone which was rejected by you, the builders, but which became the chief corner stone. And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:8-12

And have put on the new self who is being renewed to a true knowledge according to the image of the One who created him— a renewal in which there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave and freeman, but Christ is all, and in all … Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father. Colossians 3:10-11, 17

Today's thoughts from today's verses:

We want others to observe us, but not so that they become delighted with us and dependent on us, but rather so that they can see the Lord and how He has made a difference in our lives. Jesus Christ alone is the one who changes lives. The more we exercise the eyes of faith and embrace the one who is unseen, Jesus Christ, the more He will be seen in us and through us by others who desperately need Him in their lives as well. We must be humble, dependent, and truly just a bridge between others and the Lord.

Today's prayer response from today's thoughts:

Lord, touch the lives of others through me as they see the reality of your presence in me. Make my life a bridge that helps others connect with you in a lasting and personal way. Grant that my influence be neither too little nor too much. What a privilege to be a channel of your grace and truth, Lord. Amen!
