How God Communicates - The Foundation of Relationship - Monday, July 3rd
What we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father, and with His Son Jesus Christ. These things we write, so that our joy may be made complete. 1 John 1:3-4
Now we have received, not the spirit of world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given us by God, which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words. 1 Corinthians 2:12-13
Today's thoughts from today's verses:
Our Devotionals are an attempt to help those who use them to explore Christian truth and go further in their walk with God. The idea of going further is particularly significant for this week as we explore foundational truth about communication between God and us. There is a foundational matter on which the communication between God and us rests: the “relationship” that exists between God and us. We have an inner connection with God through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit that makes it possible for us to “Be” with God in communion and fellowship. The pursuit of communication between God and us wonderfully opens up when we enter the realm of “Being” with God in communion and fellowship and give ourselves to it fully and completely.
Today's prayer response from today's thoughts:
Lord, I have so much to learn about how you communicate wisdom for life to your people. More and more I am learning to be with you in an actual relationship of prayerful communion and fellowship. It makes a lot of sense that my relationship of being with you is the key to hearing from you. I am here before you with open ears, mind and heart. I want to be with you and hear from you more fully than ever before. Amen!
