Kingdom People – Go Forward Clean and Fresh - Thursday, September 27th
Straightening up, Jesus said to her, “Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn you?” She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said, “I do not condemn you, either. Go. From now on sin no more.” John 8:10-11
Now where there is forgiveness of these things, there is no longer any offering for sin. Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. Hebrews 10:18-23
Today's thoughts from today's verses:
The woman caught in adultery left the presence of Jesus with the opportunity to begin again. With the depth of forgiveness Jesus offered, she really could go forward and leave her sinful lifestyle behind. Can you picture yourself in this woman’s place? Would you have been able to walk away in complete forgiveness, feeling fresh and clean with a wonderful sense of spiritual vitality? With only a record of utter failure, without any proof that she could be trusted, she walked away with everything she needed to live victoriously. The only place where her past record and her untrustworthiness mattered were in the eyes of those around her. For Jesus and her all that mattered was the gift of her forgiveness; for with His forgiveness there is no track record and there is no untrustworthiness, just the open door of His kingdom and His righteousness.
Today's prayer response from today's thoughts:
Lord, I realize that you and you alone are the difference between a life lived well or not lived well. I know that everyone needs saving forgiveness just as much as anyone else because we are all equally sinful and lost. Please build this as fully as possible into my mind, heart, and life. As your redeemed child help me never to be slow about coming to you for the forgiveness and cleansing I need in my relationship with you along the way. May I always go forward day by day clean and fresh. Amen!
