Living Right and Not Wrong - Relying on Grace - November 2nd

So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. And because you belong to him, the power of the life-giving Spirit has freed you from the power of sin that leads to death. Romans 8:1-2

For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age …. But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Titus 2:11-12, 3:4-7

For through the Law I died to the Law, so that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me. I do not nullify the grace of God, for if righteousness comes through the Law, then Christ died needlessly. Galatians 2:19-21

Knowing this, that our old self was crucified with Him, in order that our body of sin might be done away with, so that we would no longer be slaves to sin; for he who has died is freed from sin …. Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus …. For sin shall not be master over you, for you are not under law but under grace. Romans 6:6-7, 11, 14

Today's thoughts from today's verses:

Ultimately, Grace is Christ in us through the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit. Grace is also our being able to have the fullness of all that His presence can do in us and through us come about. And then grace is God generously answering our prayer that He help us to seek Him so that we can truly partake of Him. Even the prayer in which we ask God to help us seek Him is a matter of grace. There really is nothing we can give ourselves to that does not require the initiating touch of God’s grace. No doubt this is why Jesus said, “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him” (John 6:44). It truly is the power of grace that in the end will give dominion to the Holy Spirit over our human spirit so that we live life right and not wrong.

Today's prayer response from today's thoughts:

Lord, I choose to rely fully upon your grace. I acknowledge that without your initiating grace I would not respond to you on any level at all and so I abandon myself to you and your unfailing gracious touch on my life. Your provision for me is so amazing. With a heart full of worship and assurance I confidently anticipate going forward victoriously. Surely the power of grace will bring dominion of the Holy Spirit over my human spirit so that I live right and not wrong. Amen!
