Monday, April 4th

Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will be careful to observe My ordinances. Ezekiel 36:26-27

Today's thoughts from today's verses:

God is the Creator of everything including us. As created beings God has absolute claim on us. This means that our lives should be fully at God’s disposal for all that he has in mind for us. The problem is this: no one apart from Divine intervention puts themselves at God’s disposal for living life the way he has in mind. As a matter of fact, we all go astray, go our own way, and live for ourselves. We have sinful, rebellious hearts that are neither willing or able to live fully for God.

Today’s verses from the Old Testament show us the plan God had in mind for producing people who would and could live fully for him. It is the Holy Spirit that makes all the difference. Christ came to redeem our lives for God. When we trust Christ as our Savior we are cleansed, we become temples of the Holy Spirit, and the words of Ezekiel are fulfilled in us. Truly, God has intervened, his claim on us is being realized, we are learning to live fully for God, and he is being honored and glorified.

Today's prayer response from today's thoughts:

Lord, thank you for your plan, thank you for sending Christ to put it in place, and thank you for the Holy Spirit who is making it actual in my life. Align me fully with yourself and all that you desire for my life. Amen!
