(Be sure to read the introduction that has been prepared for this week's Devotionals found on the spot below with the title, Sunday, June 28th. We usually put the message summary there. The message summary is a part of the Deep Six Study as well. So that is where it can be found this week by clicking on "Watch" and "Discussion Notes.")
For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross. Colossians 1:19-20
A "cross" as a symbol represents all that Christ accomplished on our behalf through the sacrifice of himself for the sins of the whole world. For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him would not perish but have eternal life. The cross represents the difference between life and death, now and for all eternity. The symbol of a "cross" reminds us of the memorial occasion when we become connected to this most important of all ways God in Christ has worked on our behalf. The symbol of the "cross" beckons us to be renewed in that connection and to go further and deeper. For some the symbol of a "cross" presents to you the opportunity to respond to God's provision and believe in Christ for eternal salvation.
Writing out a prayer response that captures how God is at work in your heart and life today can be a valuable experience. So, we leave the prayer response in your hands today.
