The Unchanging Love of God – Resting Fully in Its Indescribable Vastness - Friday, April 24th
Praise the Lord, all nations; laud Him, all peoples! For His lovingkindness is great toward us, and the truth of the Lord is everlasting. Praise the Lord! Psalm 117:1-2
Today's thoughts from today's verses:
What a great description of God’s love in the verse below from the song, “The Love of God” by Frederick M. Lehman:
“Could we with ink the ocean fill,
And were the skies of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill,
And every man a scribe by trade,
To write the love of God above,
Would drain the ocean dry.
Nor could the scroll contain the whole,
Though stretched from sky to sky.”
To know God is to know His love. His love is not a commodity he parcels out for us to possess and utilize. God never separates himself from his love in this way. Coming to know God and the “unchanging love” He has for us is crucial. God is as close as can be and we need to become intensely aware and vitally moved by His presence. May it be that God graciously fosters an awakening in us that helps us consistently see Him and the magnificent love He has for us, His children. God is ready and willing to do His part to help us know him and experience his love more fully. This will involve our overcoming our orientation to conditional love that makes it so difficult for us to receive and experience his vast love. And it will result in our becoming absolutely assured and resting in the marvelous reality that we can never be separated from the unconditional, unfailing, unending, and unchanging love of God.
Today's prayer response from today's thoughts:
Lord, wow! Your love is wonderfully overwhelming. My relationship with you truly is a goldmine of Divine love that I treasure above all else. Thank you for loving me fully and always. I love you, trust you, praise you, and worship you. I truly rest in your vast unchanging love. Amen!
