Tuesday, June 30th
(Be sure to read the introduction that has been prepared for this week's Devotionals found on the spot below with the title, Sunday, June 28th. We usually put the message summary there. The message summary is a part of the Deep Six Study as well. So that is where it can be found this week by clicking on "Watch" and "Discussion Notes.")
For you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God .... Like newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the word, so that by it you may grow in respect to salvation. 1 Peter 1:23, 2:2 (NASB)
A "baby" as a symbol reminds us that we have been spiritually born and need to grow in respect to our salvation through the Word of God. The symbol of a "baby" reminds us of the memorial occasion when we first became connected to God's Word for the purpose of spiritual growth. The symbol of a "baby" beckons us to be renewed in that connection and to go further and deeper. For some the symbol of a "baby" presents to you the opportunity to respond to God and your need to become connected to his Word for the purpose of spiritual growth.
Writing out a prayer response that captures how God is at work in your heart and life today can be a valuable experience. So, we leave the prayer response in your hands today.
